FAQs

Can’t I just use Google Translate or ChatGPT?

There’s nothing stopping you. But traditional machine translation tools like Google Translate are prone to errors and don’t understand nuance and tone the way that humans do. ChatGPT has those same pitfalls, but with the addition that it has a tendency to make things up. Just last week I was reviewing some GPT-translated marketing content for a major tech company, and it had completely changed the text, to the point that a false advertising lawsuit would’ve been very easy for a customer to win. I noticed that…GPT didn’t ;)

How much do you charge?

For translation, proofreading and editing, my rates depend on the amount of text, the complexity of it, and how quickly you need it completing.

For accessibility consultancy, my rates depend on factors such as how much content I need to review, the style of the content (a website takes longer to review than a Word document), and, again, how quickly you need it.

I can promise that I won’t break your bank though. Get in touch and we can work it out!

What is accessibility consultancy?

Have you ever visited a webpage that you’ve found hard to read, or seen a document with yellow text and strained your eyes trying to see it? For people with conditions such as dyslexia or colour blindness, those things are all-too-common. And when instructions are overly complicated or websites are hard to navigate, autistic people or people with dementia might not be able to use them at all. This is how accessibility consultancy can help!

With qualifications in accessibility standards, I can make sure that your content doesn’t isolate people who perceive it differently to you :)
